Salinas lettuce recall, Listeria 09/29/11 TDH

A salinas farm has issued a precautionary recall of chopped romaine lettuce, due to possible Listeria contamination.  Random tests by the f-d-a of chopped romaine lettuce from true leaf farms, showed the presence of the bacterium.   The lettuce was shipped to Oregon, Idaho, and Washington state.   The voluntary recall is for any romaine from true leaf farms with a use by date of yesterday, september 29th.    for more information visit church brothers dot com, which is the site for the sales agent for the farm.    A listeria outbreak traced to Colorado cantaloupes has killed 13 people, and sickened 72.
