TEN SALINAS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WERE HONORED TODAY (MON) FOR COMING TO THE AID OF AN INJURED WOMAN LAST MONTH. SALINAS POLICE CHIEF KELLY MCMILLIN HONORED THE SCHOOL’S JUNIORS FOR THEIR QUICK AND DEDICATED ACTION ON AUGUST 22ND, WHEN THEY SAW CARLA GEARHARDT TRIP AND FALL AT A CROSSWALK. THE STUDENTS WERE RETURNING FROM LUNCH, WHEN THE SALINAS RESIDENT REPORTEDLY FELL IN FRONT OF THEM, SUFFERING A SEVERE LACERATION ON HER FOREHEAD. A REPRESENTATIVE FOR STATE SENATOR ANTHONY CANNELLA ALSO PRESENTED EACH STUDENT WITH A SENATE CERTIFICATE.
