A 61-year-old man suffered 3rd degree burns this (tues) morning, when a fire broke out at a salinas hotel. Salinas fire fighters and police officers were called to the royal hotel, at 201 market way, just after 6 a.m. the flames had erupted in room 17, on the second floor of the hotel. Inside the room, police officers found the victim with his clothes still smoldering. He was taken to natividad medical center. the fire extinguished by salinas firefighters. The cause is under investigation.
