salinas police are investigating the city’s 5th homicide of the year. around 6:30 p.m. last night, salinas police officers responded to the 900 block of acosta plaza following reports of a shooting. a 15 year old boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. he was pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital. witnesses described the shooter as a man in his late teens about 5 feet 7 inches tall. anyone with any information on this sunday night shooting is asked to contact the salinas police department.
