The death of two women is under investigation after they were both hit and killed by a car last night in Salinas. Police say the just after 7 o’clock incident occurred after a woman, who is suspected of trying to Escape from Natividad Hospital, ran and fell into the street when a hospital security guard tried to help the woman out of the street, when both of them were struck by oncoming traffic. The women were sent through the air after a car traveling eastbound on Laurel hit them. The car’s driver was arrested. Laurel Drive was shut down in both directions for several hours.
