A SALINAS MAN HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY, RESISTING ARREST, AND PROBATION VIOLATION. AN OFFICER SPOTTED 28-YEAR-OLD JOHN PALACIOS RUNNING DOWN CHURCH STREET SHORTLY BEFORE 10 P-M LAST NIGHT. UPON SEEING THE PATROL CAR, PALACIOS RAN INTO A YARD AND BEGAN JUMPING FENCES. HE WAS DETAINED A SHORT TIME LATER. POLICE RECOVERED A FAKE HANDGUN AND CASH FROM AN EARLIER ROBBERY AT CLAY STREET LIQUORS. PALACIOS WAS BOOKED INTO MONTEREY COUNTY JAIL.
