Salinas firefighters extinguished a grease fire this morning (at a church). The flames broke out at 8:35 a.m., in the kitchen of the first united methodist church on the 4-hundred block of lincoln avenue. It took just minutes to completely extinguish the fire, however it took about an hour to clear the room of smoke. The oven had been reportedly not working properly, and somebody had used it without knowing that.
