A Salinas second-grader suffered critical injuries when he was hit by a car while walking to school yesterday. The 7:30 a.m. accident took place as he crossed Hebbron Avenue at Alisal Street. The Sherwood Elementary School student was walking with his siblings (and some other students) at the time. He was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.
