A Salinas-based attorney has been tapped to fill the seat on the bench being opened due to the retirement of a Monterey County Superior Court Judge. 43 year-old Jennifer Jean O’keefe, who has been the chief deputy public defender in Monterey county for the last 4 years; has been appointed to replace retiring Judge Efren N Iglesia, who has been on the bench since 2007.
