A 43 YEAR-OLD MAN SUFFERED SEVERAL GUNSHOT WOUNDS TONIGHT IN SALINAS, AS HE WAS REPORTEDLY WAITING FOR HIS FATHER OUTSIDE A SALINAS PHARMACY. THE 6:30 P.M. INCIDENT ALLEGEDLY OCCURRED IN THE 100 BLOCK OF EAST LAUREL DRIVE. THE VICTIM, WHO SAID HE RETRIEVED HIS FATHER FROM THE STORE AFTER THE SHOOTING, AND THEY THEN DROVE TO A LOCAL HOSPITAL, DID NOT REPORT THE SHOOTING, AND TOLD SALINAS POLICE OFFICERS THAT HE COULD PROVIDE NO SUSPECT INFORMATION BECAUSE HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK.
THE HOSPITAL REPORTED THE GUNSHOT WOUNDS TO THE SALINAS POLICE DEPARTMENT. OFFICERS SAY THERE WERE INCONSISTENCIES WITH THE VICTIM’S VERSION OF EVENTS, AND NO CRIME SCENE EVIDENCE OR WITNESSES COULD BE LOCATED IN THE PARKING LOT.
