Salinas police arrested a 27-year-old parolee yesterday(sun), who is accused of assaulting his spouse, and then fleeing from police officers. Witnesses contacted authorities just before 3 p.m., after allegedly seeing Kenny Mendenall physically assaulting a female, in a car at the intersection of Laurel Drive and Main Street. When officers tried to stop the car, police say Mendenall fled on foot. He was eventually located in a garage on Santa Clara Street, and taken into custody. Police say the victim’s injuries did not require her to be treated at a hospital. Kenny Mendenall faces several charges, including resisting arrest, spousal abuse, and violating parole.
