A 27-year-old man was arrested in Salinas on Friday on several charges, including possession of a firearm. Matthew Redford Speight was taken into custody after authorities conducted a vehicle check on a truck parked in the parking lot of Wal-Mart (on North Davis Road). The truck was searched after it was discovered that Speight was on parole. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office said in a release, that authorities found a meth pipe, used syringes, and a gun with the serial number scratched off. Speight also told deputies he was a member of the Vagos motorcycle gang. He was taken to Monterey County Jail.
