Salinas Police responded early Saturday morning to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex on East Romie Lane. The incident occurred around 5am after a woman who resided there woke up and entered her kitchen to speak with a male relative. The man, who is known to have gang ties, had arrived at the apartment around 3am. He and the victim were having a conversation when shots were fired through a front window. Two sleeping teenagers were nearly hit by the stray bullets while they slept in the living room. The male relative fled following the incident, and his whereabouts are unknown. No one was injured in the incident.
