A man who was shot to death in Salinas Friday has been identified. The incident took place at 2:36 p.m on Bellehaven Street and Second Avenue, near Closter Park, when police say 35-year old Jaime Donato Rubio was parked when a purple sedan pulled up next to him and a gunman stepped out of the vehicle, fired several shots into Rubio’s car and fled. Rubio was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are calling this the city’s 20th murder of the year, and also say it is believed to be gang related.
