Employees at five businesses in the Aptos/Soquel area have received misdemeanor citations for selling alcohol or tobacco to minors. The action resulted from a November 7th sting operation oversee by sheriff’s deputies.
The minor decoy attempted to purchase tobacco products and alcoholic beverages at 13 businesses. Eight businesses refused to make the sales, but five did and were cited.
Deputies say the goal of the operation is to limit minors’ access to alcoholic beverages and tobacco products in the community.
A list of all the businesses is posted at ksco.com/news.
