A dying Salinas woman is trying to raise the money for her own funeral. 68 year-old mother-turned-activist Gloria Torrez wants to be buried in Soledad Cemetery. That’s because her 15 year-old son, Preciliano Perea Torrez, was buried there after he was mistakenly shot and killed back in 1992. Torrez, who was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer 7 months ago, doesn’t yet have the necessary funds, nor does her family.
