A salinas man has been ordered to stand trial for attempted murder and other charges. 22-year-old jose de jesus vargas ocegueda is accused of shooting a man in the chest outside of a new year’s party (this past December) on watsonville’s southern circle. Ocegueda’s girlfriend, margarita ruiz, was ordered Monday to stand trial for being an accessory to the crime. Both suspects are due back in a santa cruz county courtroom September 4th.
