A Salinas man has been sentenced for sexually abusing a minor for years, and threatening that her father would be deported if she told anyone about the abuse. 43 year-old Jose Francisco Barajas, who was a trusted family friend, repeatedly abused the girl starting when she was 12 years-old. Barajas has been sentenced to spend more than 16 years behind bars, and register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. He has also been ordered to pay restitution.
