The Salinas police department operated a D.U.I. checkpoint on Friday night, on North Main Street, (north of Iris Drive). Out of the more than 11-hundred drivers that were contacted, 1 was arrested for suspected D.U.I. 29-year-old Esteban Aguilar was also driving without a license. He was booked into Monterey County Jail. 2-additional vehicles were also impounded by officers that patrolled near the checkpoint, and issued 8-citations.
