There are only a few cities in the tri-county area in which it’s ok to set off “safe and sane fireworks” on July 4th this year. “safe and sane fireworks” are ok to set-off only on July 4th;…..and only in the cities of: Watsonville, Seaside, Salinas, King City, and Gilroy. Fireworks are illegal to set off anywhere else on the central coast. Fireworks that are not categorized as those that are “safe and sane” are always considered illegal in all of California.
