A WELL KNOWN SCOTTS VALLEY TEACHER WILL BE MISSED BY TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ALIKE. 55 YEAR-OLD APTOS RESIDENT THOMAS CURRY MILNES, WHO TAUGHT HISTORY AT SCOTTS VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS, DIED FRIDAY.
OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM, MILNES WAS KNOWN TO BE VERY INVOLVED WITH THE COMMUNITY. IN FACT, BEFORE HE DIED HE REQUESTED THAT RATHER THAN SENDING HIS FAMILY FLOWERS, HE WOULD PREFER PEOPLE TO HONOR HIM BY MAKING DONATIONS TO THE SALVATION ARMY OF WATSONVILLE.
A Mass of Christian burial IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Resurrection Catholic Church IN Aptos. Interment will BE IN Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, WHICH IS adjacent to the church.
