A GROUP OF SOCIAL SECURITY WORKERS HELD A PROTEST IN SALINAS ON FRIDAY. THE SMALL GROUP OF CO-WORKERS WERE ON NORTH MAIN STREET WITH PICKET SIGNS. THE SIGNS WERE PROTESTING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHUT-DOWN. PARTICULARLY THAT AS SOCIAL SECURITY EMPLOYEES THEY ARE STILL EXPECTED TO WORK, BUT WITHOUT PAY,WHILE CONGRESS GETS PAID DURING THE SHUT DOWN.
