THE 2ND OLDEST MALE SIBERIAN TIGER IN NORTH AMERICA HAS BEEN EUTHANIZED. AT 18 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS OLD, THE SAN FRANCISCO ZOO’s “TONY” (WHO HAD BEEN SUFFERING FROM ARTHRITIS, AND COLLAPSING AFTER TAKING JUST A FEW STEPS) WAS PUT TO SLEEP AFTER HE REFUSED FOOD, AND APPEARED TO BE DISORIENTED. ONLY A FEW HUNDRED OF THE ENDANGERED SIBERIAN TIGERS REMAIN AROUND THE WORLD.
