Santa Cruz residents that wonder how police lieutenants are hired (or promoted) have a chance to witness the process.
Santa Cruz Police is hosting a community panel interview for lieutenant candidates.
In a statement issued to KSCO, Santa Cruz Police Chief Andy Mills had the following to say about the hiring process…
“The position of lieutenant requires a dedicated public servant, effective leader, possesses the qualities that our communities want to see in the next leader of our law enforcement efforts, and one who shares my commitment to transparency and accountability.”
Those who cannot attend can also submit questions to ask candidates during the lieutenant interview by sending an email to jmulloy at cityofsantacruz.com.
The panel interview starts Wednesday December 4, from 9 am to 4 pm at the Santa Cruz Police headquarters, located at 155 Center Street.
