After a final tally of outstanding provisional ballots, election officials have confirmed that the race for the 15th state senate district is headed for a run-off election. That election is scheduled for august 17th, and will feature all 4 candidates who ran in the first round. Republican candidate Sam Blakeslee nearly captured enough votes to take the seat, falling about 750-votes shy of the 50-percent mark. The un-official results reflect all of the ballots cast, however they still need to be certified by California’s secretary of State on Wednesday.
