The heavy rain has caused mud, dirt, and rock slides in some areas, and fallen trees in others. Highway 1 remains closed for about 30 miles (between Fuller and Ragged Points), and people are encouraged to take alternative routes around that area. Sections of Soquel-San Jose Road, and empire grade, have also been blocked to through traffic. A rockslide also occurred on Partington Ridge in big sur. Westbound Highway 68, near Josselyn Canyon Road, was re-opened after crews cleared a fallen tree there. Numerous crashes on Highway 17 created traffic jams there today as well.
