Monterey restaurant owners Chris and Sabu Shake say they plan to continue to feed their 300+ employees (and those employees’ families, as well as many other people in the community) until the Stay-At-Home order ends, and people are back on their feet. Although the brothers’ flagship restaurant (Old Fishermen’s Grotto) is open for take out (and the free delivery, they have furloughed many of their workers.
The Shakes are also providing 2 meals a day for homeless people in the waterfront area….and through a partnership with the Salvation Army, they are feeding 25 more families.
