MORE THAN A DOZEN DOGS AND PUPPIES RESCUED IN MONTEREY ARE RECOVERING AT THE S-P-C-A. HUMANE OFFICERS FOUND THE ANIMALS CONFINED TO SMALL CARRIERS INSIDE A PARKED VEHICLE IN APRIL. THE CAR’S OWNER DENIED NEGLECTING THE DOGS AND PLANNED TO SELL THEM IN CARMEL. THE 4 ADULT DOGS AND 10 PUPPIES UNDERWENT EMERGENCY EXAMINATION FOR UPPER RESPIRATORY AND SKIN INFECTIONS, AS WELL AS DENTAL DISEASE. OFFICERS HAVE SUBMITTED THE CASE TO THE COUNTY D-A’S OFFICE. THE DOGS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONCE THE CASE IS RESOLVED.
