A WOMAN WAS RESCUED FROM ROUGH SURF AND THEN ARRESTED IN SANTA CRUZ. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE THURSDAY AFTERNOON NEAR LIGHT HOUSE POINT, IN THE SAME AREA THAT CLAIMED THE LIFE OF A BOOGIE BOARDER IN JANUARY. A HARBOR PATROL BOAT WITH RESCUE SWIMMERS ON BOARD MADE ITS WAY THROUGH UNUSUALLY HEAVY SURF TO A REPORTED WOMAN IN THE WATER WITHOUT A BOARD OR WETSUIT. UPON BEING CONTACTED THE WOMAN TRIED SWIMMING AWAY FROM THE BOAT. RESCUE SWIMMERS WERE SENT IN AS SHE QUICKLY TIRED. 29 YEAR OLD AMY MAE TYLER WAS PULLED TO SAFETY AND TAKEN TO THE HARBOR, WHERE SHE WAS ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION.
