RESEARCHERS HAVE SIGHTED A WHALE RESCUED EARLIER IN THE YEAR IN THE MONTEREY BAY. A HUMPBACK WHALE THAT WAS FOUND ENTANGLED IN CRAB POT LINES IN APRIL, AND THEN ENDURED MORE THAN 2 WEEKS OF RESCUE EFFORTS BEFORE BEING FREED, WAS SPOTTED ON SATURDAY. A GROUP FROM MARINE LIFE STUDIES RECOGNIZED THE WHALES TAIL INJURIES CAUSED BY THE FISHING LINES. THE WHALE IS NOW IN THE SAME AREA IT WAS ORIGINALLY FOUND IN DISTRESS.
