a salinas woman has been arrested for allegedly helping a suspected child molester hide from police. nelida gaytan was arrested tuesday after she lied to police about the wherabouts of her boyfriend, rene cruz. cruz is accused of sexually abusing a girl at gaytan’s daycare at their salinas home 4 years ago. when questioned by police, gaytan lied about her name, knowing cruz and his current location. gaytan is being charged as an accessory after the fact and interfering with a police investigation.
