Santa Cruz County and local non-profit organization Grey Bears are re-establishing a redemption center in Ben Lomond. That comes nearly 6 months after California’s largest operator of recycling redemption centers closed all 284 of their centers. The new center will be staffed by Grey Bears at the Ben Lomond Transfer Station on Newell Creek Road. The new CRV center is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Qualified beverage containers can also be redeemed for cash vouchers at Ben Lomond Market, Wild Roots in Felton, and the Redwood Keg Liquor And Deli in Boulder Creek.
