A local chapter of the Red Cross is helping aid victims of recent disasters in the South. Tornados, hurricanes, and floods have left residents of several states homeless, and in need of help. The American Red Cross of Santa Cruz has so far sent a dozen volunteers to help with recovery efforts. Nurses, and others, have been sent to Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia.
