A record number of undergraduate students have applied to attend U.C. santa cruz. University officials reported that more than 40-thousand applications were received for this fall. that was a 17-point-2 percent increase of freshman applications from last year, which was the 2nd-highest increase in the u.c.-system. only about 5-thousand students are expected to be admitted this fall.
