Andy Weir, author of acclaimed film 'The Martian', on It's A Question of Balance with Ruth Copland
Andy is a lifelong space nerd and a devoted hobbyist of such subjects as relativistic physics, orbital mechanics, and the history of manned spaceflight. He also, apparently, mixes a mean cocktail! A New York Times best-selling author and the recipient of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer in 2016, Andy built a two-decade career as a software engineer until the success of his first published novel, 'The Martian', allowed him to live out his dream of writing full-time. 'The Martian' was made into an acclaimed feature film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain. Andy lives in Mountain View, California. His new novel, Artemis, is a near-future, sci-fi-noir heist story set on the moon.
