A 51-year-old Marina man was arrested on New Year’s morning, for allegedly raping a woman. The victim told Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputies that Henry Burl Reed Junior forced himself on her in the back of a vehicle in Salinas. Reed said the encounter was consensual. He was already on probation, and out on bail for a burglary charge. Reed was booked into Monterey County Jail on suspicion of rape, probation violation, and violation of his terms of bail.
