The heavy rains have not only brought out a lot of greenery and mushrooms….it’s brought out ticks as well. That’s because although they essentially go dormant when it’s dry, they come out in force when it’s wet. The dampness also allows them to seek hosts for a longer period of time. Although the rain doesn’t mean that more ticks are born, it does mean they can live for longer….both with and without hosts.
