The west side of Santa Cruz is the site of the next phase of the coastal rail trail.
Construction will begin in December on a one-point-three mile multi use path from natural bridges to Bay and California streets. The first phase of the bike and pedestrian trail will run along the south side of the existing rail line and is estimated to cost over six million dollars. Target date for completion is the end of summer 2020.
When phase two of the project is complete… the trail will connect natural bridges to pacific avenue and will provide an alternative to Mission street for bikers and pedestrians.
