The former Executive Director of the O’neill Sea Odyssey, has resigned. As of a letter Rachel Kippen posted on social media last night, her resignation was effective immediately. In the letter Kippen, cited concerns about “institutional racism, misogyny and privilege.” The letter did acknowledge the non-profit’s track record of serving primarily minority schoolchildren through its living-classroom catamaran on the Monterey Bay (and other programs)….however, Kippen noted that she made other attempts to diversify the organization, and she said those were thwarted.
