a high-speed pursuit from davenport to santa cruz early saturday morning ended with a crash, and the arrest of the suspect. the chase began at about 4 a.m., after santa cruz county sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of battery. the male suspect was spotted driving away from the scene in a chrysler 3-hundred, which was pursued by deputies. the chase came to an end in santa cruz, at the intersection of mission and swift streets. that’s where the suspect crashed into a 7-11 parking lot. the man was arrested after trying to flee on foot. the unidentified suspect is facing multiple charges, including D-U-I. he was booked into santa cruz county jail. meanwhile, a woman that was in the car was taken to domincan hospital with minor injuries, before being arrested on drug-related charges.
