A number of puppies were found buried behind a k-mart in Watsonville this week. The owner of the litter was identified, and a veterinarian determined that the litter was rejected by its mother, and suffered from infection. The dogs that whelped the litter will be spayed and neutered this week, and are currently in the care of the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter.
