A state utility regulator has released its draft environmental impact report on a proposed desalination facility in Marina. The Public Utilities Commission’s draft report on Cal Am’s Monterey Peninsula Water Project has been three years in the making. The document weighs two proposals for different-sized desal facilities and looks at the logistics of pipelines and a slant well. The release of the report marks the beginning of a 2-month public review and comment period. The first meeting will be held at the Marina Public Library on May 26th.
