The santa cruz county housing authority has been awarded 372-thousand dollars, to help upkeep its public housing. the housing authority has jurisdiction over 234-apartment units in the county; the money is expected to be used to paint some units, make landscaping and parking improvements, and other work. The funds were part of 1-point-9 billion dollars in grants awarded nation-wide, from the u.s. department of housing and urban development.
