A Red Flag Warning is in effect in many areas of California, and due to the hot dry weather (and the expected high winds), P.G. & E, and Southern California Edison, are saying they may start Public Safety Power Shut-Offs today and tomorrow. Today those could be in communities within 16 counties in northern California. Tomorrow those shut-offs could begin in southern California. Once power to a community is shut-off, utility workers will need to check every inch of each circuit, and repair any damage, before power can safely be restored. The 16 counties that may be impacted in northern California this afternoon or tonight are: Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, El Dorado, Lake, Mendocino, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, San Mateo, Sierra, Sonoma, Sutter and Yuba……and the 6 counties that could be impacted tomorrow in southern California are: Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernadino and Ventura. More information about the exact communities (within those counties) can be found on-line at: pge.com OR sce.com
