On Saturday afternoon shortly after 3 PM, California Highway Patrol units in Santa Cruz were summoned to assist with the San Jose CHP in a high-speed pursuit that was leading into Santa Cruz County.
As the chase continued into the city of Santa Cruz coming from Highway 17 onto Ocean Street, CHP officers ended up disabling the Toyota Prius they were pursuing.
The chase ended on Water Street in front of the Santa Cruz County Jail. A 30-year-old male from San Jose who was found driving the Prius was arrested and charged with numerous felonies, including felony DUI.
