Presidio of Monterey authorities are investigating reports of a loud noise near the installation. At about 10:15 a-m on Friday, The Defense Language Institute was locked down and a shelter in place order was issued as the report was handled as an active shooter situation. The noise was determined to have originated off campus. The campus was then declared safe and the shelter in place order was lifted.
