On Sunday, widespread power outages affected several parts of Santa Cruz County.
The first outages reportedly began around 9 AM on Sunday in the Scotts Valley area and eventually became countywide.
According to the National Weather Service, the peak wind gust off Pine Flat Road was 78 miles-per-hour during this weather event.
As a result of this wind, over 10-thousand customers lost their electricity and several roads were closed due to fallen trees along with utility poles.
About 80-percent of those who were without electricity saw their lights back on by this (Monday) morning.
At this time, there are still several regions in Santa Cruz county without their power, many of which are in the San Lorenzo Valley as well as South County.
