Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) is alerting customers of the utility that the upcoming storms expected to start this (Tuesday) afternoon could result in power outages.
The main area of concern for these potential outages is the Santa Cruz Mountains, as rainfall predictions are over 2 inches, which could saturate the ground and cause downed trees.
Rain and wind is forecasted to become heavy at times across the state. Customers of PG&E are asked to ensure they are prepared in the event of a power outage.
Tips include: keeping battery operated radios and flashlights with fresh batteries, freezing water in containers to use as ice for refrigerators to keep cold, and securing outdoor items that could interfere with power lines due to the anticipated high winds.
