A big win today for advocates of open space. A Palo Alto environmental group spent over 13-million dollars to buy nearly 600 acres near San Gregorio state beach.
The peninsula open space trust, also known as post, says it will retain the development rights of the scenic coastal property and continue to lease the acreage to farmers. The property is located near the intersection of highway one and highway 84.
Post is buying up large pieces of land on the san mateo county coastline in effort to prevent developers from turning the property into luxury housing.
