Although no shutdowns have been ordered yet, there is the possibility that P.G. & E will pro-actively shut off power to portions of Northern and Central California tomorrow or Thursday due to hot, dry, and windy conditions. Customers are asked to be prepared for the power to be out for at least several days because if they do shut off power they will have to check every segment of powerline in the impacted area before restoring the power to that area….and with this many counties potentially involved, that could take some time. P.G. & E. recommends that people keep their battery operated devices fully charged in case of a public safety power shut-off in their area. If people have signed up with P.G. & E. for notifications those will be sent out via phone calls, texts, and e-mails. When possible, people with generators are encouraged to test them before any shut-offs occur.
